Protecting Mountain Gorillas and Virunga

About Me

9 Sep 2008

I have worked for the Congolese Wildlife Authority (ICCN) since 2005. My biggest challenge is to make Virunga National Park, a World Heritage site, financially viable. We are terribly underfunded and struggle to manage the park with our current budget. Through your generous donations and a grant from the European Union, we are able to continue our work. As the word of Virunga’s plight reaches more people, we hope to one day have the funds to protect the world’s second oldest national park in the way it deserves. We are placing our hopes on the goodwill of individual donors and international organizations. With your continued support, Virunga National Park can be restored to its former glory.
